As a parent, we always want to choose what’s best for our kids, from the food they eat to the clothes they wear. But it gets hard when there’s a seemingly endless amount of articles telling you what’s good for your child and what’s not. And while we don’t have the answers to everything, we do know one thing, and that’s what clothes your baby will love! Aubrey Gianna’s Boutique is dedicated to creating soft and adorable baby clothes you and your little one will both cherish! From unique designs to a blend of materials, we only choose the best for our baby clothes and accessories.
That’s why in some of our newest collections, we decided to incorporate bamboo fabric! Bamboo fabric comes with a number of different benefits for your baby and for the planet. Here’s why you should consider opting for bamboo fabric when choosing clothes and accessories for your baby.
Bamboo is Better For the Planet
Bamboo doesn’t require as much water to grow as cotton does. In fact, bamboo takes up one-third less water than cotton, which makes it a fairly self-sufficient plant. It also requires very little fertilizer or pesticides, and even when it’s cut down, bamboo can regenerate by itself. There’s no need for replanting.
Another fun fact about bamboo is that it absorbs five times more carbon dioxide and 35% more oxygen than similar plants. Bamboo textiles are one of the most sustainable fabric options for an eco-friendly closet.
Bamboo Fibers are Softer Than Cotton
Bamboo fabric is one of the softest fabrics to use for your child because its fibers are round, meaning the fabric is less likely to feel scratchy. Your child will feel nothing but comfort in a knotted gown. Often compared to Egyptian cotton, bamboo fabric is known to have that soft, luxurious feel, without the hefty price tag.
Our entire Avocado collection is made with breathable bamboo fabric, and the pastel green color creates a fresh and lively look for your baby. For a girlier color, check out our Blush Pink collection, also made with incredibly soft bamboo fibers.
Bamboo Fabric Absorbs Moisture
Another benefit to bamboo fabric is its ability to wick away moisture. There’s nothing more uncomfortable for a baby than being warm and sweaty in a tight one-piece footie. Keep your baby cool and comfortable by opting for clothes made from bamboo.
Bamboo fabric is also thermal regulating and fast-drying. The cross-stitching pattern in bamboo fabric, as well as the hollow fiber, allows for any moisture or heat to pass through the micro-holes, keeping your baby cool and dry throughout the day. Overheating can be dangerous for newborn babies, which is why it’s important to dress them in clothes that allow their skin to breathe.
Bamboo Fabric is Hypoallergenic
Babies have sensitive skin, so it’s especially important to choose clothes that are hypoallergenic. Bamboo is naturally hypoallergenic, so it shouldn’t cause allergic reactions in children with especially sensitive skin.
Bamboo is also anti-microbial, as it contains a substance called bamboo kun, which resists the growth of bacteria on the fiber. The properties of kun exist even after processing, so the clothing naturally resists bacteria, making bamboo fabric a great choice for baby clothes.Baby clothes made from cotton will stick around the market for a very long time, so you should consider investing in a few baby clothes made from bamboo to see the difference for yourself.
